You only ever grow as a human being if you’re outside your comfort zone.

Ran 6 miles today along the Lake Superior beach line. Went 3 miles out on the hard packed sand near the water and on my 3 mile return I ran through the deepest loose sand I could find. My hamstrings were burning the entire way back!

  2. I have a question for you, Joey: What do you do on the days of inclement weather or extreme heat/humidity? Is there an indoor track or tread mill you can use as a back up? Also, around here we have hills, which enhance our workout when we walk. Do you run hills?

  3. I love running hills! Hills are a great way to increase resistance while walking. It creates a greater aerobic demand on the respiratory system. As for indoor options, I work as an Exercise Specialist at a local gym and that allows me full access to the gym's cardio equipment. If I had the choice I would prefer an indoor track over a treadmill due to the more natural gait when you propel yourself forwards verses the treadmill which is more unnatural.
